Ayurveda Sinus Congestion Remedy

Sinus congestion can be a symptom of a virus but not always. Sometimes it is a sign of an allergy to something you are inhaling like dust, pollution or even fragrances. All remedy are not equal according to Ayurveda, because each body type needs its own remedy according to it's nervous, digestive and immune body type.

Sinuses are mucus lined airspaces in the bones of the face and skull. The immune system protects the brain nerves and facial nerves with clean healthy mucosal lining . The nose itself creates an air infiltration system.

Ayurveda's unique factor teaches that knowing the body type with the sinus congestion is essential in choosing the most effective remedy. 

Predominant Vata Body Type get these sinus congestion symptoms:

  • dizzy

  • throbbing pain

  • movements aggravates pain

  • dry sinuses

  • clogging

  • ringing in the ears

The Vata Sinus Congestion Symptoms are cleared out with the following remedy:

 1/2 tsp of Triphala add  1/8 Tsp Ginger

Mix with hot almond or oat warm milk

Pitta Sinus Congestion Symptoms

  • Tenderness

  • Feverish

  • green and yellowish mucus

Pitta Sinus Congestion Symptoms Remedy

  • Sitopladi 1/3 tsp

  • Eichanaecea 1/2 tsp

  • Guduchi 1/2 tsp

  • add warm almond milk

  • take twice a day.

Kapha Sinus Congestion Symptoms.

  • Thick white discharge

  • Dull aching pain

  • Heavy full sinuses

Kapha Sinus Congestion Remedy

  • Vacha 1/2 tsp

  • Sitopladi 1 tsp

  • Calamus 1/2 tsp

  • add hot water and honey if desired.
