Five Ways To Lose Weight With Ayurveda

Ayurveda Weight Loss Tip 1

The first step to losing weight with Ayurveda is to identify your food cravings.

Don't feel guilty ... we all have them!

Some people crave different things. For example, patients tell me they crave ...

  • Rich chocolate.
  • Sour crunchy pickles.  (even when they're not pregnant)
  • Fresh yeasty bread.
  • The saltiness of potato chips.

Whatever the craving, Ayurveda considers this condition to be a toxic build-up of undigested food as the underlying reason for the craving.

According to scientific wellness  principles, eating certain

foods habitually will produce toxins that clog and imbalance your system rather than nourish your body and create health.

Some Western allergists believe that food addiction is the first sign of a food allergy.

The biochemical change caused by ingesting the food gives you a sense of well-being, and when this wears off, you need the food again.

You may take 1/2 teaspoon triphala with 1/2 cup warm water at bedtime daily.

Ayurveda Weight Loss Tip 3

Recognize Emotional Eating, Unresolved Emotions or Chronic Emotional Stress slows down the metabolism:

Grief and sadness are part of everyone's life because at some point we all lose someone or something we care about.

  • It could be the death of a loved one or a pet
  • the loss of a job and thus our income and identity
  • the end of a relationship and thus the loss of a spouse, child, lover, or friend
  • we may be the victim of a violent crime,
  • such as a rape or mugging
  • we may need to move away from our home
  • experience the grief called homesickness.

Unexpressed grief and sadness affect the nervous system, which vibrates with grief.

According to Ayurveda, if these feelings remain unresolved, they accumulate in the lower gut, the neck, the circulatory system, and the mind.

Ayurveda Weight Loss Tip 4

(Woman Only)

Menopause affects women between the ages of forty-five and fifty- five as their hormone production shifts.

  • You know you have reached menopause only after the fact—menopause actually occurs after the last menstrual period. It's the perimenopause, the time before menopause finally happens, that usually brings characteristic symptoms of
  • hot flashes
  • mood swings
  • changes in libido
  • insomnia
  • weight gain.

Before starting to to control or manipulate your hormones detox your body.
